Our body depends of water for variety of physiological processes such as regulating body temperature, lubricating our joints, delivering oxygen and much more.

Water is present in every organ and tissue inside your body. Kidney and Brain has highest proportion of water (about 85% of their masses), Lungs has 75-85%, Liver, Skin and Muscles 70-75%, Blood: 50%, Bones: 20-25% and Teeth: 8-10%.

Our body ideally needs around 8 glasses of water per day.

We get 20-30% water through food resources so depending on what diet you follow will either reduce of increase the requirement of water.

Adding pinch of salt will give your body important electrolytes and reduces the risk of loss of Sodium and Potassium through Urination.

Most Yin deficient conditions point towards dehydration.

Several Acute and Chronic diseases due to hydration can be reversed with water:

Asthma- Arthritis- Angina – Back Pain-Hypertension-Colitis Pain-Migraine-Chronic Constipation.

Rheumatic Arthritis can be due to dehydration and salt deficiency. Cartilage is a matrix containing water, any reduction will increase the friction between surfaces causing cells to peel off.

Eating Bread, Non-Veg foods, Tea, Coffee, Salted Snacks dries water.

People who drink unnecessarily empty stomach water in morning will affect person with diseases of bones and heart at some point of time. Person will become chronic constipated. Most of minerals and vitamins will be drained out of body and will be deficient of minerals and vitamins.

30 ml of room temperature or lukewarm water with a pinch of Himalayan salt is necessary for patients in the morning after waking up and bath. Amla juice with honey or Triphala, 5 gm in one glass of water is good in the morning.

We are being taught that we must drink empty stomach water in the morning to be healthy. We are being taught a myth and to a certain extent a lie.
